Spring 2013 – 9th sale – Stone Spring Elementary – 110 consignors + 800 shoppers

Spring 2012 – 8th Sale – Stone Spring

Fall 2011 – 7th Sale – Stone Spring

April 1-2, 2011 – Stone Spring Elementary – It’s safe to say that our 6th sale took us all by storm! With 106 registered consignors, tens of thousands of items, a great new location at Stone Spring, and public shopping hours on Friday night for the first time, we were all expecting some bigger crowds. But despite our best efforts to prepare for some more traffic, we never anticipated HUNDREDS of shoppers on Friday evening, with a 1.5 hour wait time for check out! It was sheer craziness :) Suffice it to say, we will certainly be implementing even more strategies to smooth the shopping experience for the next event! Thank you to every volunteer, consignor, shopper, and vendor, and especially to all of you who so patiently waited in line. We are grateful! :)

September 11, 2010 – Sale number FIVE… Another great event hosted at the Simms Building, drawing in about 600 shoppers, like the Spring. We are thankful and grateful for everyone’s participation and support! Looking forward to Spring 2011, with some exciting changes on the way!

March 27, 2010 – Once again, we were blown away by another amazing event, our fourth to date! With just under 100 consignors, we still had more inventory than our Fall Sale, and more baby items by far, which was wonderful for our 50 New Moms at the Friday night pre-sale!  Saturday morning rush was on full swing, as always, and we DOUBLED our shoppers to 600+ (up from 300 in the fall)!

Unsold clothing marked for donation benefited some of the families of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Harrisonburg, as well as maternity and infant items for The Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center. For the second sale in a row, a portion of our proceeds benefited Kerus Global’s  Orphan Care Center in South Africa, which helps support more than 50 orphaned children.

God has truly blessed us and we are continually thankful for the tremendous growth of The Village Closet. Thank you to all of you who participated in any way… we appreciate you!

September 26, 2009 – Sale number three!  With 110 consignors and over 10,000 pieces of inventory, this was by far the biggest sale of the year! We were really excited to open up the sale to 25 special new moms on Friday night, in addition to our consignors and volunteers for a special sneak-peek preview at the Pre-Sale. Between the two days there were over 300 shoppers this time around, and our first 200 shoppers received special goody bags with treats and coupons from many local businesses, including Chick-Fil-A, Sheetz, McAllister’s, On The Turtle’s Back, and Mary Kay!

Once again, we were grateful to partner with the local Boys and Girls Club for the use of the Simms Building, and were able to provide a ROOM FULL of beautiful, donated clothing! We are also SO excited to support the global community for the first time in presenting a portion of our proceeds to Kerus Global’s in South Africa! Thank you everyone for joining us in these efforts!

April 18, 2009 – Sale number two…and we made so many improvements for the better! Held at the Simms Building of The Boys and Girls Club, we had much more room to spread out this time. Every item had its space and we had the most amazing volunteers that made for a smoother process overall. Although we had less consignors than January, we were thrilled to just get the whole event organized as we had wanted to do in January. Thank you everyone for your help and support!

January 31, 2009 – Our very first sale, and it was truly an amazing time!  We were blown away by the number of consignors who sold, as well as the great turn-out of shoppers. The volunteers were absolutely incredible… the only problem was that we needed more of them!  We are so very thankful to have met so many wonderful people through this sale.  Thank you to all of our consignors, shoppers, and volunteers for making the first Village Closet sale a huge success.  What a blessing!
